Usage

Your own dictation and call totals over any date range, the monthly hours that come with your plan and when Cluinn mentions them.

Click your account chip at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Usage. It’s a sheet of its own, not a Settings tab: the menu opens upward and holds Deleted calls, Plan, Usage and Settings. It’s your own history, so it’s there on every plan.

Transcribe and Calls

Two tabs at the top switch what you’re looking at: Transcribe for dictation, Calls for meetings. Everything below them changes with the tab. On Pro, Calls comes first and the sheet opens on it.

All-time totals

The card at the top is your lifetime total for that tab: total time, the number of recordings or calls behind it and one more figure: Words on Transcribe or Average call on Calls.

Pick a range

Today · Week · Month · Year · Custom. Month is selected each time you start Cluinn; after that, the sheet keeps the range you last picked until you quit. Custom opens a date picker for any two dates you like.

Under the buttons, a summary row shows the range you picked, the time in it and Words or Calls, plus Average call on the Calls tab. The chart below covers the same range.

Totals come from your account’s own history, so they follow you to a new Mac and stay even after you delete a recording or call. See Sync & backup.

Monthly hours

Your plan comes with a pool of hours each month, renewed on the 1st. The pool is a fair-use ceiling, set far above normal use.

This sheet shows where you stand. The figures in force are published in the fair-use section of our Terms, which is the place to check, because they’re adjusted from time to time.

Cluinn mentions your hours only once you’ve used 80% of the month’s pool; below that, the strip at the top of this sheet stays hidden. Past 80% it tells you how much is left, and at 100% it says the month’s hours are used up and when they renew. Everything you’ve already recorded stays where it is either way.

Note: A single dictation also has a maximum length, published in the same fair-use section, and there’s a ceiling on how much dictation can fall on one day. The length limit is per recording: stop and start again and you carry on, and if one runs long, everything up to the limit is still transcribed.

The free trial is counted separately

During the free trial, Calls and dictation each run on one fixed pool for the whole trial instead of a monthly allowance. The strip says so (“… left in your trial”), and when a pool runs out the trial ends rather than waiting for the 1st. See Plans & trials.
