Hotkeys
The three default shortcuts, what each one does and how to change or reset them.
The defaults
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Start or stop dictation | ⌘⇧Space |
| Open or close the Calls bar | ⌘\ |
| Switch between light and dark | ⌘⇧L |
Change or reset a shortcut
Open the account chip at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings; it opens on the General tab. Next to Transcribe hotkey or Calls hotkey, click Change and press the combination you want. Reset puts the default back. The Calls hotkey row appears only on accounts with Calls.

The rest of that tab is covered in General settings.
Transcribe hotkey
Starts and stops dictation from any app. Press ⌘⇧Space and speak, and Cluinn types the text where your cursor is. Press it again, or click ✓ on the pill, to stop and process. Esc cancels while the pill is showing.
Pick a combination you won’t hit by accident while typing. This one can also be a mouse button, such as Mouse4 or Mouse5. Walkthrough: Your first dictation. The full picture: Dictating & paste options.
Calls hotkey
Opens and closes the Calls bar with ⌘\. It takes a key combination only, not a mouse button. Pressing it during a call never ends anything: it asks “Close this call?” with three choices (Discard, Save or Continue recording), and recording carries on while the question is up.
Calls is part of Pro, and the free trial includes it. See Plans & trials and Using the Calls panel.
Toggle theme
⌘⇧L switches between light and dark. The Theme control itself is in the Appearance group of Settings → General, with Recorder position, Show in Dock and Show in Menu Bar. See General settings.
