Interviews Follow the conversation wherever it goes.

Every word is written down, each turn under the name the meeting window shows, so your attention stays on the person.

Catch the follow‑up in time.

You can’t listen properly and write at the same time. With the conversation being written down as it happens, the thing they said in passing 40 seconds ago is still there when you realize it mattered, so you can follow it up.

Who said what, without the guesswork.

Voices are separated on your Mac and labelled as you go, with names taken from a capture of the meeting window, read on our servers and never stored. Fix a name once on the saved transcript and the whole call follows.

Go back to their exact words.

Ask the saved call a plain question and get an answer drawn from the full transcript. The transcript itself is always there to read and download, on every plan, so when a quote matters you can check the words themselves.

Common questions

Which parts need Pro?

All of the call side: recording an interview with its live transcript and speaker names, asking it questions, takeaways and search by meaning. Basic is dictation only; transcripts you already saved stay viewable, searchable by keyword and downloadable on every plan.

Can I get an exact quote with a timestamp?

Not automatically. Answers are written from the transcript but don’t cite a line or a time, so when the exact wording matters, read it in the transcript, which is viewable and downloadable on every plan.

Does it work for in-person interviews?

Yes, if your Mac can hear the room: it listens through the microphone, so a laptop on the table between you works. Open the Calls bar with ⌘\ and press Start, since auto-detection is for meeting apps. Speaker names come from a meeting window, so in a room everything the microphone hears is written down as your side of the conversation.

What happens to the audio?

Cluinn transcribes on your own Mac wherever it can: on a recent Apple silicon Mac with an active plan, your speech becomes text on the machine itself, with no external speech model and no audio uploaded. During a trial, or any time Cluinn can’t run the on-device model, the audio is sent to our servers to be turned into text and discarded straight after. Either way, it’s discarded once it is text and never backed up. A clip that can’t be transcribed straight away waits on your Mac until it can, then it’s deleted. The transcript is kept on your Mac and, where encrypted backup is switched on for your account, in an encrypted copy.

Spend the interview listening.
