Research Spot the pattern across sessions.

Run the sessions without taking notes, then ask the whole set what they had in common.

Each session written down, voice by voice.

Every session is transcribed as it happens with each voice labelled, so your attention stays on the participant and the next question. The transcript is saved the moment you stop.

Ask the whole study at once.

“What did people say about onboarding?” “Who mentioned pricing without being asked?” Ask once and Cluinn looks through every session, answering from the ones that matter, so you don’t open every file to find it.

Find a session from a rough description.

On Pro, search by what you meant: find the participant who talked about giving up halfway through setup, even if nobody said “abandonment”. File each session in the study’s folder and tag it, and the study stays easy to navigate as it grows.

Answers aren’t cited

Cluinn writes answers from your transcripts but doesn’t attach timestamps or point at the line it used, so it won’t do the citation work for you. When a quote has to be exact, and in research it usually does, read it in the transcript, which is always there and always downloadable. Use the answers to find the right session fast, and check any quote against the transcript before you publish it.

Common questions

Where does a participant’s voice go?

Cluinn transcribes on your own Mac wherever it can: on a recent Apple silicon Mac with an active plan, your speech becomes text on the machine itself, with no external speech model and no audio uploaded. During a trial, or any time Cluinn can’t run the on-device model, the audio is sent to our servers to be turned into text and discarded straight after. Either way, the audio is discarded once it is text and never backed up. A clip that can’t be transcribed straight away waits on your Mac until it can, then it’s deleted. The transcript is what gets saved, and it lives on your Mac and, where encrypted backup is switched on for your account, in an encrypted copy.

Can I quote a participant from an answer?

Check it against the transcript first. Answers can quote the transcript but don’t say where in it, and a quote can be off by a word, so the transcript is the record. It’s yours to read and download on any plan.

How much of a long session does a question see?

All but the longest sessions fit whole. Past a set length, the oldest part is left out of that question.

Which parts need Pro?

All of the call side: recording a session, asking it questions, takeaways and search by meaning. Basic is dictation only; transcripts you already saved stay viewable, searchable by keyword and downloadable on every plan.

Put a study’s worth of sessions in one folder.
