Writers Talk your way past the blank page.

Speak it once and it lands as finished prose, in the voice you chose for that app.

The first draft, out loud.

Talking is faster than typing, and much faster than staring at a blank page. Speak the paragraph and it appears on the page, punctuated and ready to edit.

A different voice for every place you write.

Give one persona Notion and Google Docs and another Mail and Gmail, and each switches on by itself there. Start from the four built in or write your own, or switch personas off and get your words exactly as transcribed.

Rewrite it and keep the original.

Each dictation stays on your Mac to replay or copy. A persona or translation run stacks a new version beside the original; re-transcribing replaces it. New installs keep dictations 90 days; choose 7 days to a year, or forever.

A paragraph as it was typed, stepped to a Colleague rewrite and a German translation stacked beside it, and back

One take has a time limit

Long-form comes in stretches. If you reach the limit, the recording closes cleanly and everything you said is transcribed; you start the next one. Dictation also has a monthly allowance and a daily ceiling, both set far above any real drafting and published in the fair-use section of our Terms.

Common questions

Can I dictate a whole chapter in one go?

Not in a single recording. One take has a time limit, published in the fair-use section of our Terms, so you speak a section, it lands and you start the next one.

Does it change my words?

Only as much as you ask it to. General, the default persona, keeps your words and only tidies them. Switch personas off and nothing is rewritten: you get the raw transcript. Snippets are always pasted exactly as saved.

Can I export my dictations?

There’s no PDF or text export for dictations: copy is how text leaves the page. Settings → Content can also export a copy of your content, dictations included, as one password-protected file. The recordings and transcripts live in a folder on your Mac that you can open at any time. And where encrypted backup is switched on for your account, the text is also kept in an encrypted copy. The recordings are never backed up.

Try it on your next first draft.
