Notifications
The main switch and the four call events Cluinn can notify you about, and what to do when macOS is holding notifications back.
Click your account chip at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Settings, then open the Notifications tab, the last one in the first group.
The main switch
Notifications: “Get notified when something happens while you’re looking elsewhere.” Turn it off and nothing below it can notify you. The event rows stay where they are, greyed out, so you can see what you’ve chosen for when you turn it back on.
During a call
Four events, each with its own switch:
| Event | When it notifies you |
|---|---|
| Smart Card arrived | A card appeared while you were looking at something else |
| Answer ready | An answer you asked for has finished |
| Call seems to have ended | Your meeting looks over, but the recording is still going |
| Recording stalled | Nobody has spoken for a while, or transcription went offline |
All four start on. A Smart Card or an answer that arrives behind your meeting window is easy to miss, and a recording left running after a meeting is worth knowing about.
If macOS is holding them back
macOS decides whether any of this is delivered. When it’s holding notifications back from Cluinn, a row appears at the top of the page and the switches below it are dimmed until that’s fixed. If macOS hasn’t asked you yet, the row’s button reads Turn on and asks the question there and then. If you said no once, macOS won’t ask again: the button reads Open System Settings and takes you to the right pane.
If Cluinn can’t tell what macOS has decided, the row stays hidden rather than guess.
