Call presets
A call preset is a saved setup for one kind of call, with your role, the answer language, its Smart Cards setting and the quick pills the panel shows.
What a call preset is
Make one call preset for each kind of call you have, such as standups, interviews or customer calls. Pick it when you start a call and the panel opens ready. Each preset holds four things:
- Your role and context: the box at the top of the editor. Who you are on this kind of call and anything Cluinn should know, for example “I’m the account exec on a renewal call for Acme; they care about price.” Once you’ve typed something, a character count appears under the box beside Improve with AI, which rewrites your text into something tighter, and Undo puts your own wording back. Improve with AI isn’t shown while Calls is locked.
- Language: a fixed answer language, or Smart to match the language spoken in the meeting.
- Smart cards: Off, Key moments (the default) or Chatty. See Smart Cards.
- Quick pills: the one-click questions the Calls panel shows.
New accounts start with a preset named General: Smart language, Smart cards on Key moments and four pills: What should I say?, What did they mean?, Catch me up and Define that. A fifth built-in pill, Counterpoint, is in the library if you want to add it.
Note: Whether transcripts are kept is not a preset setting. It’s one switch for every call: Settings → Privacy → Save transcripts.
Create or edit one
- In the sidebar, open Personalize → Calls → Call presets. On Basic these pages are greyed out (clicking one opens the Plan sheet), and on an account that has never had Calls they don’t appear at all.
- Click New Call preset and describe the kind of call in a sentence, such as “renewal calls where they always push on price”. Press Create: Cluinn writes the preset and names it, and the editor opens on the result, already saved, so you can correct anything. Clicking an existing preset opens its editor directly.
- Adjust the role, language, Smart cards and pills. A Save button appears at the top whenever you have unsaved changes.

If the draft can’t be written (you’re offline, say), a write it yourself link appears and you get an empty editor instead. To name a preset yourself, use Rename.

Make default at the top of the editor preselects that preset for new calls, and becomes Remove default once it is the default. Rename and Delete preset are in the ··· menu.
Quick pills have their own page
Pills are shared by all your presets and managed in one place: Personalize → Calls → Quick pills. A new pill starts the same way as a preset: describe what it should do in one sentence, such as “help me push back when someone says we’re too expensive”, and press Create. Cluinn writes its label and its question, and the editor opens so you can adjust them before saving. An existing pill opens straight into the editor. Add a pill to any preset from that preset’s Quick pills row.
Deleting a pill deletes it everywhere, and the confirmation says so: “… will be deleted and removed from any Call preset that uses it.”

Use it on a call
The Calls bar (from ⌘\ or meeting detection) has a preset picker next to the title field. Your default is preselected; switch it before pressing Start. See Using the Calls panel.
Call presets don’t attach to apps or websites: you choose one per call. That’s different from dictation personas, which follow the app you’re writing in.
Calls is part of Pro, and the free trial includes it, whichever plan you picked. See Plans & trials.
